6rsh Messaging & Notifications

Description

Free WhatsApp abandoned cart recovery for WooCommerce — on the one channel your customers actually open. 6rsh captures the shopper’s phone at checkout, guests included and behind an opt-in you control, then sends a WhatsApp cart reminder carrying a one-click link that restores the cart. WhatsApp cart recovery is free on every plan, including the Free tier, forever. No trial, no card, no upgrade prompt standing between you and a recovered sale.

Free cart recovery is the on-ramp to a complete WhatsApp for WooCommerce toolkit. The same plugin sends WhatsApp order notifications on every WooCommerce order status change, syncs WooCommerce order tracking — courier, tracking number, tracking link and ship date — into WhatsApp replies, and feeds an AI customer support agent that answers “where is my order?” on WhatsApp with live data from your store, day or night. A storefront WhatsApp chat widget puts a conversation one tap away.

Built for GCC e-commerce. 6rsh is designed first for stores in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf, where WhatsApp is how customers buy, ask questions and chase a delivery. The admin screens are bilingual English/Arabic, the storefront widget is fully Arabic RTL ready, and phone numbers are normalized for AE, SA, EG, KW, QA, BH, OM and JO — so a right-to-left WooCommerce store looks right without a single line of CSS.

Under the hood it connects your store to the WhatsApp Business Platform (WhatsApp Business API) through the 6rsh service, so you get WhatsApp sending without ever touching a Meta dashboard yourself.

Email cart recovery lands in a promotions tab. A WhatsApp message gets opened in minutes. That difference is the whole product.

Why WhatsApp for your WooCommerce store

  • It gets opened. WhatsApp messages are read within minutes, while abandoned cart emails sit unopened in a promotions tab. Order confirmations and shipping updates actually get seen.
  • It reaches guests. Most abandoned carts belong to shoppers who never made an account. A phone number captured at checkout reaches them; a mistyped email does not.
  • It answers by itself. A WhatsApp AI assistant deflects repetitive “where is my order?” questions around the clock, using live WooCommerce data rather than a canned reply.
  • It starts conversations. One tap on the WhatsApp chat widget turns a hesitant visitor into a customer you are talking to.
  • It is where the Gulf already shops. In the UAE, Saudi Arabia and across the GCC, WhatsApp is the default storefront for questions, negotiation and support.

What you get

  • WhatsApp abandoned cart recovery — free on every plan. Capture the shopper’s phone at checkout (guests included, behind an opt-in checkbox you control) and send a WhatsApp cart reminder with a one-click link that rebuilds the cart exactly as they left it. Recovery is cancelled automatically the moment the order is placed. Sends count against your plan’s normal message quota — the feature itself is never gated.
  • Guest checkout capture. Live phone (and optional email) capture as the customer types at checkout, before the order is ever placed, so you can recover guest carts and not just logged-in ones. REST-based and WAF-safe.
  • WhatsApp order notifications. Send a message automatically when an order is placed, processing, on-hold, completed, cancelled, refunded or failed. Map an approved template to each WooCommerce status in a table, with per-order variables for order number, status, total, currency and customer name.
  • WooCommerce order tracking sync. Order snapshots — status, courier, tracking number, tracking link and ship date — are synced to 6rsh so WhatsApp tracking answers are always current. Works with WooCommerce Shipment Tracking, Advanced Shipment Tracking (AST) and AfterShip.
  • AI customer support for WooCommerce, on WhatsApp. The 6rsh AI agent replies to WhatsApp messages, looks up their order and shares tracking automatically. The conversational AI runs on the 6rsh service; this plugin is what keeps it fed with live, accurate store data.
  • Storefront WhatsApp chat widget. A floating WhatsApp chat button with a greeting tooltip, configurable position and colour, right-to-left ready for Arabic storefronts.
  • WhatsApp marketing follow-ups. Schedule up to two post-order WhatsApp follow-ups — a review request a week after delivery, for example — from your approved marketing templates. Cancelled automatically if the order is refunded or cancelled.
  • Smart phone normalization. Numbers are validated and normalized to E.164 (Gulf, North African, UK, US and EU formats) before anything is stored or sent, so messages do not bounce.
  • Activity log with CSV export. Every send is logged with its delivery status, filterable, and exportable to CSV.
  • Bilingual and translation-ready. Admin screens render in English or Arabic from your WordPress locale, and the plugin ships a .pot file with full RTL styling.

How this differs from email cart recovery

Most WooCommerce stores already run abandoned cart emails. They are not competing for the same attention:

  • Where it lands. A recovery email lands in a promotions or updates tab beside a hundred others. A WhatsApp message lands in the same thread as the customer’s family and their courier.
  • When it is read. Email recovery is read hours later, if at all. WhatsApp is typically opened within minutes — which matters, because cart intent decays fast.
  • Who you can reach. Email recovery needs an email address, which guests often mistype or fake. This plugin captures a phone number live at checkout, validates it to E.164, and discards it if it is not a real number.
  • What the customer does next. An email asks the customer to find your site again. The recovery message carries a one-click link that restores the exact cart, on the device already in their hand.
  • What it costs. Email recovery is cheap but ignored. WhatsApp costs per conversation but converts — and with 6rsh the recovery feature itself costs nothing on any plan.
  • They work together. This plugin does not replace your email flow. Run both: email for the long tail, WhatsApp for the first few hours when the cart is still warm.

How it works

  1. Create a free account at 6rsh.com and get your API key.
  2. Install this plugin and paste the key into the setup wizard.
  3. The wizard auto-matches your approved WhatsApp message templates to WooCommerce order events.
  4. Turn on WhatsApp abandoned cart recovery and choose your reminder delay.
  5. Done. WhatsApp reminders and order notifications fire automatically from then on.

Built for compliance

  • The plugin talks to your site over the WordPress REST API (/wp-json/6rsh/v1/) and never admin-ajax.php, so it works alongside WAFs and security plugins.
  • Abandoned cart capture is gated behind a checkout opt-in you control, and a phone number is used only to deliver the messages you configured.
  • Invalid numbers are discarded rather than stored.

External Service

This plugin connects your WooCommerce store to 6rsh.com, a third-party SaaS operated by 6rsh, a product of Aldadah Future Trading (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), to deliver messages over the WhatsApp Business Platform. The plugin will not function without a free 6rsh.com account and an API key. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or Meta.

What the plugin sends to 6rsh.com, and when:

  • On connect: the API key you enter and your site URL are sent to 6rsh.com to validate the key and link your account.
  • On a WooCommerce order status change (placed, processing, completed, etc.): the order data needed to build the message — order number, status, total, currency, and the customer’s name and phone number — is sent to 6rsh.com so it can deliver the corresponding WhatsApp message.
  • At checkout, if Abandoned Cart Recovery is enabled and the shopper opts in: the cart contents, cart total, and the customer’s phone number (and optionally email) are sent to 6rsh.com so a recovery reminder can be sent later.
  • Periodically: order snapshots (including any courier/tracking details) may be sent so the 6rsh assistant can answer customer order-status questions.

No message is sent without your configuration, and a customer’s phone number is used only to deliver the messages you set up. Phone numbers that cannot be normalized to a valid international number are discarded rather than stored. The floating chat widget loads locally and only opens a messaging link when a visitor clicks it.

FAQ

How do I recover abandoned carts on WhatsApp?

Install this plugin, connect it to a free 6rsh account, and turn on abandoned cart recovery. At checkout the plugin captures the shopper’s phone number behind an opt-in checkbox, and when the cart is abandoned it sends a WhatsApp reminder containing a one-click link that restores the exact cart. If the order is completed first, the reminder is cancelled automatically.

Is abandoned cart recovery really free?

Yes. Cart recovery is included on every 6rsh plan, including the Free tier, with no trial period and no card required. There is no locked screen and no upgrade prompt in the way. The individual WhatsApp messages are sent through your own approved templates and count against your plan’s normal message quota, but the recovery feature itself is never gated.

How is this different from abandoned cart emails?

Reach and timing. A recovery email lands in a promotions tab and is read hours later, if at all. A message lands in the thread the customer already checks, and is typically opened within minutes — while the cart is still warm. Email also needs a valid email address; this plugin captures and validates a phone number live at checkout, before the order exists.

Does this work with Arabic and RTL WooCommerce stores?

Yes, and it was built for them. The admin screens render in Arabic automatically when your WordPress locale is Arabic, the storefront chat widget is fully right-to-left, and the plugin ships a .pot file for other languages. Phone numbers are normalized for Gulf, Egyptian, Jordanian and North African formats, so an Arabic-first store needs no custom CSS or code.

Do I need a WhatsApp Business API account?

You need a WhatsApp Business Platform sender, which you connect through your free 6rsh account rather than setting up yourself. 6rsh handles the platform connection, number verification and message template approval on your behalf. This plugin never talks to Meta directly — it talks only to 6rsh, which is what actually delivers the message.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The 6rsh Free plan costs nothing, includes one connected number, 500 contacts and a monthly allowance of AI replies, and it includes abandoned cart recovery in full. Paid plans add more numbers and contacts, unlimited simultaneous order notifications, a full team inbox, broadcast campaigns and higher AI limits. You never have to upgrade to keep recovering carts.

Does it work with guest checkout?

Yes, and that is the point of it. Most abandoned carts belong to shoppers who never created an account. The plugin captures the phone number as the guest types it at checkout — before any order is placed — validates it, and stores it only if the shopper ticked the opt-in. The recovery link then restores that guest’s cart.

Do I need a 6rsh account to use this plugin?

Yes. The plugin is the WooCommerce side of the 6rsh service: it collects order, cart and tracking data and hands it to 6rsh, which sends the messages and runs the AI agent. Create a free account at 6rsh.com, copy the API key into the setup wizard, and the plugin does the rest. The plugin does nothing on its own.

How do I send WooCommerce order notifications on WhatsApp?

Open the Notifications tab, and you get a table of WooCommerce order statuses — placed, processing, on-hold, completed, cancelled, refunded and failed. Switch on the statuses you want and map each one to an approved message template. The setup wizard tries to match your templates to the right events automatically, so most stores only confirm the suggestions.

Can customers track their WooCommerce order over WhatsApp?

Yes. The plugin syncs each order’s courier, tracking number, tracking link and ship date to 6rsh whenever they change, including edits made days after the order. It reads WooCommerce Shipment Tracking, Advanced Shipment Tracking and AfterShip. The AI agent then answers tracking questions with the current carrier and number rather than a stale snapshot.

Can an AI agent answer “where is my order?” for my store?

Yes. Because the plugin keeps order status and tracking details synced to 6rsh, the AI agent can look up the customer’s order from their phone number and reply with the real status, carrier and tracking link, around the clock. The AI itself runs on the 6rsh service; this plugin’s job is keeping it supplied with accurate live store data.

Which countries and phone formats are supported?

Any country where the WhatsApp Business Platform is available. Numbers are validated and normalized to E.164 before storage, with explicit handling for AE, SA, EG, KW, QA, BH, OM, JO, MA, DZ, TN, GB, US, DE and FR among others. Numbers that cannot be normalized to a valid international format are discarded rather than stored or sent.

Does it conflict with other abandoned cart plugins?

It detects them rather than fighting them. If the CartRevival plugin is active it automatically hands cart recovery over and pauses its own cart sync, so no shopper is messaged twice, while order notifications, follow-ups and the chat widget keep running. A toggle lets you reverse that and keep 6rsh in charge of carts instead.

Will it work without WooCommerce?

The storefront chat widget will still load and work on any WordPress site. Everything else — abandoned cart recovery, order notifications, order tracking sync and the AI agent’s order lookups — depends on WooCommerce order and cart data, and requires WooCommerce 7.0 or later. Without WooCommerce those features simply stay inactive rather than erroring.

Why do I see “403 Forbidden” or “WordPress security is blocking the connection” during setup?

A security plugin or server WAF is blocking the WordPress REST API. This plugin uses REST routes under /wp-json/6rsh/v1/, never admin-ajax.php. In Wordfence, go to Tools Firewall and allow that path. In Cloudflare, add a WAF Allow rule for it. On managed hosts, ask support to permit authenticated POST requests to /wp-json/ on your own domain.

Changelog

1.7.3

  • New: you now find out about a failed subscription payment while you can still fix it. If a 6rsh payment fails, your account keeps full access for a three-day grace window — but until now nothing told you, and the first sign was sends stopping three days later with the account already on Free. A dismissible notice in WP Admin now shows the failure and how many days of full access remain, in English or Arabic, with a direct link to update your card. It states plainly that nothing has been deleted and nothing will be: contacts, conversations, campaigns and order history are all kept, and everything returns the moment payment succeeds. The notice appears only while a payment has genuinely failed and the window is still open, and only for users who can act on it.
  • Works unchanged against older 6rsh servers: if the account status is not reported, no notice is shown.
  • Abandoned-cart recovery remains free on every plan.
  • Also included: the 1.7.2 refund fix. Version 1.7.2 was never published, so this release carries it: recording a refund threw “Call to undefined method …OrderRefund::get_billing_phone()”, the refund failed, and the order’s snapshot in 6rsh was never re-synced — so AI order lookups kept quoting the pre-refund total. Refunds now resolve to the order they belong to. Nothing was ever sent to the wrong person: the failure happened before any message was addressed.

1.7.2

  • Fixed: recording a refund threw an error, and the order’s live snapshot stopped updating. A refund is not an order — WooCommerce gives it no customer details of its own — but the plugin read the customer’s phone straight off whatever it was handed. Every refund therefore failed with “Call to undefined method … OrderRefund::get_billing_phone()”, and the refunded order was never re-synced to 6rsh, so AI order lookups kept quoting the pre-refund total. Refunds now resolve to the order they belong to, which is the order whose totals actually changed. Delayed follow-ups and order notifications took the same route and are fixed with it. Nothing was ever sent to the wrong person: the failure happened before any message was addressed.

1.7.1

  • Cart-recovery coexistence now uses the prefixed option cartrevival_engine_owner. The previous key cart_recovery_engine_owner is still read, and still written alongside the new one, so a store running either side of the rename keeps working and no shopper is messaged twice.

1.7.0

  • Abandoned-cart recovery is now free on every plan. The locked upgrade screen is gone: connect your WhatsApp number and cart reminders work on the Free tier, with sends counting against your plan’s normal message quota.
  • Removed the “moving to paid plans” countdown banner — cart recovery is not moving anywhere.
  • Everything else about plans is unchanged: order-notification limits and other plan features work exactly as before.

1.6.1

  • Fixed: stores on a paid plan (Starter, Pro, Extreme) were incorrectly shown the Free plan’s “1 active notification” limit and blocked from enabling a second order notification. The plugin was misreading the server’s “unlimited” value as a limit of 1. Paid plans now correctly have unlimited notifications.
  • Fixed: “Re-check my plan now” could appear to do nothing because it did not fully clear the stored plan snapshot. It now clears everything and re-reads your plan from 6rsh.
  • Improved: your plan is now fetched live every time you open the 6rsh settings screen, so an upgrade or downgrade is reflected on a simple page reload — no button press needed. The short-lived cache is now only a fallback for when 6rsh can’t be reached.
  • Improved: if 6rsh is briefly unreachable, a store that has previously verified as paid stays unlocked. Only a connection that has never verified defaults to the Free limits.
  • New: CartRevival coexistence. When the CartRevival plugin is active it automatically takes over cart recovery and 6rsh pauses its own cart sync, so customers are never messaged twice. Your 6rsh order notifications, follow-ups and chat widget keep running as normal. A “Let 6rsh handle carts instead” toggle lets you override this. Available in English and Arabic (RTL).

1.6.0

  • Plan changes: abandoned cart recovery is now part of 6rsh paid plans (Starter and above). Stores on the Free plan keep every setting they’ve saved — nothing is deleted — and abandoned cart recovery switches back on automatically the moment you upgrade. Free stores that were already using it keep access for 30 days, with a reminder in the plugin.
  • Plan changes: the Free plan includes one active order notification at a time. You can freely switch which one is active (disable one, enable another); paid plans keep unlimited notifications. If you were already running several on a Free store, they all keep working — you’ll just be limited to one active the next time you change them.
  • Instant entitlement sync: the plugin checks your current plan live whenever you enable a gated feature, so upgrading unlocks everything within seconds. A signed plan-change webhook and a manual “Re-check my plan now” button back this up. If 6rsh is briefly unreachable, the plugin falls back to your last known plan so a paying store is never locked out.
  • Order tracking and marketing follow-up sending are unaffected and remain available on all plans, including Free.
  • New: a locked-feature screen for abandoned carts recommends CartRevival (built by the 6rsh team) as an alternative — a real-time visitor monitor with multi-step WhatsApp and email recovery, bot detection and exit-intent. Fully dismissible. Available in English and Arabic (RTL).

1.5.4

  • Maintenance: updated plugin authorship and copyright metadata. No functional changes.

1.5.3

  • Removed legacy per-cart cron scheduling (dead code). Added automatic cleanup of stale sixrsh_sync_cart cron events left by versions < 1.5.2, fixing high CPU on affected sites. Hardened cron scheduling with deduplication.

1.5.2

  • Performance: fixed high server CPU/load on busy stores. The hourly order-sync reconciliation sweep used to re-push up to 100 recent orders every hour regardless of whether anything changed; it now only re-syncs orders modified since the previous sweep, so a quiet store does almost no work.
  • Performance: order snapshots are now sent to 6rsh as non-blocking, fire-and-forget requests with a short timeout, and the blocking request timeout was reduced from 15s to 8s. A slow or unreachable network can no longer tie up PHP workers during order sync (sends already ran after the page response; now they no longer hold the worker either).
  • Performance: removed the broad added_post_meta/updated_post_meta listeners that ran on every metadata write site-wide. Late courier/tracking updates are still captured via the dedicated WooCommerce Shipment Tracking / AST hooks plus the hourly reconciliation sweep.
  • Performance: removed the redundant per-order delayed WP-Cron fallback that churned the WordPress cron option on every order event; the non-blocking shutdown push and the reconciliation sweep already cover delivery.
  • Added an independent kill-switch: turning Order Sync off now fully unhooks the AI order-sync path (no hooks attached) and unschedules the reconciliation sweep, leaving order notifications and abandoned-cart recovery running.
  • No database schema changes. No configuration changes required.

1.5.1

  • Updated plugin branding: new icon and banner assets for the WordPress.org listing.
  • Refreshed the readme/listing with an SEO-friendly description, a clearer benefit-led feature list, and updated metadata and tags.
  • AI order lookup now learns about NEW orders within seconds. Order sync to 6rsh uses the same robust hook set as order notifications (order created, every status transition, and each per-status entry) and is delivered on shutdown after the response is returned — no WP-Cron dependency on the live path. Previously a new order placed directly into a status (POS / async gateway) could be missed.
  • Late tracking is captured: when a courier/tracking number is added or edited a day or more after the order (WooCommerce Shipment Tracking / AST, AfterShip, or legacy tracking meta), the order is re-synced immediately so the AI can answer “where is my order?” with the carrier, tracking number, link and ship date.
  • Added an hourly reconciliation sweep (safety net) that re-syncs orders modified in the last 7 days, catching anything a missed push or a later tracking edit left behind. Idempotent — never duplicates an order.
  • A delayed WP-Cron push is kept only as a fallback for the rare case the shutdown push cannot run.

1.5.0

  • WordPress.org compliance fixes: uninstall.php now resolves the plugin directory dynamically with plugin_dir_path( FILE ) instead of a hardcoded path under WP_PLUGIN_DIR, so uninstall still works if the plugin folder is renamed.
  • Tightened the /save-followups REST permission_callback from manage_woocommerce to manage_options, matching the manage_options capability required by the settings page.
  • Removed the redundant load_plugin_textdomain() call; WordPress.org auto-loads translations for hosted plugins (Requires at least: 6.0).

1.4.1

  • Added the GPL License headers (License and License URI) to the main plugin file to match the readme.
  • Security hardening: database queries in the cart tracker, logger, and admin now reference table names as fixed literals rather than via an interpolated variable, resolving the unescaped-table-parameter warning. Query values were already bound with prepared statements; no data was ever interpolated unescaped.

1.4.0

  • Renamed the plugin slug, folder, main file and text domain from 6rsh-whatsapp to 6rsh-messaging-notifications (no trademarked term in the slug). Display name is unchanged: “6rsh Messaging & Notifications”.
  • Added automatic, idempotent settings migration: an install switching from the legacy 6rsh-whatsapp plugin keeps its API key and configuration (the sixrsh_* option namespace is preserved). Safe order: deactivate the old plugin, install and activate this one, verify, then delete the old plugin.
  • WordPress.org compliance: rewritten readme with an External Service disclosure, distinct Plugin URI and Author URI, descriptive (non-trademark) tags, and current “Tested up to” version.
  • Updated setup troubleshooting to reflect the REST API connection approach (no admin-ajax.php).

1.3.15

  • Abandoned cart capture now hydrates the WooCommerce cart/session inside the REST capture request, so live carts are reliably tracked for guests and logged-in customers.
  • Recovery template send is spec-driven from the approved template (correct header/body/URL-button parameters), and the recovery link reliably restores the cart.

1.3.13

  • Abandoned Cart Recovery now works for ANY customer — guests and logged-in alike — not just logged-in users with a saved mobile.
  • Live phone capture: billing_phone (and billing_email) are captured on the checkout page as the customer types (on blur/change), before the order is placed, via a WordPress REST endpoint (6rsh/v1/capture-cart) — not admin-ajax.php (WAF-safe).
  • New checkout opt-in checkbox: “Send me order updates and offers on WhatsApp” (label + default-checked configurable). Opt-in can be required before any phone is stored for recovery (on by default) to protect WhatsApp quality and Meta compliance.
  • Phone is validated and normalized to E.164 before storing; invalid numbers are discarded. Email is stored for context only — WhatsApp recovery always targets the phone.
  • Recovery sends now go through 6rsh’s queued send path (never inline), with dedupe (one recovery per cart) and STOP/opt-out respected. Completing the order cancels the pending recovery.
  • Free on all plans.

1.1.0

  • Fixed critical settings page bug: tabs now use WordPress native nav-tab-wrapper with URL-based (?tab=) switching instead of broken JS class selectors.
  • Fixed selector mismatch: JS now targets correct IDs matching the HTML (e.g. #sixrsh-test-connection-btn).
  • Registered missing AJAX action sixrsh_save_setting so auto-save on the settings page now works.
  • Added new AJAX handlers: sixrsh_dismiss_banner, sixrsh_dismiss_checklist.
  • Added onboarding checklist on Connection tab (dismissible).
  • Added persistent status bar showing connected account name, phone, and plan.
  • Added connection error notice when 6rsh.com is unreachable.
  • Added setup banner shown after wizard completes, linking to Notifications tab.
  • Added failed-log badge in admin menu (cached 5 min).
  • Template transient caching (1 hour) for faster settings page load.
  • Added North African phone codes: MA (+212), DZ (+213), TN (+216).
  • After wizard completes, redirects to Notifications tab instead of Connection tab.
  • Bumped version to 1.1.0.

1.0.4

  • Switched wizard connect and setup to WordPress REST API (/wp-json/6rsh/v1) — bypasses WAF rules targeting admin-ajax.php.
  • Fixed critical bug: JS was reading window.sixrshAdmin but PHP was creating window.SixRshAdmin — nonce was always empty, causing all AJAX to 403.
  • Added version footer to wizard so installed version is always visible.
  • Version text on Integrations page download button now kept in sync.

1.0.3

  • Improved error messages: 403/WAF blocks now show actionable fix instructions instead of a generic error.
  • Added “Test API key directly” fallback button when WordPress AJAX is blocked.
  • Fixed wizard success message showing “Your account” instead of the connected account name.
  • Debug: all AJAX responses are logged to browser console for easier diagnosis.

1.0.0

  • Initial release.
