# Insight Menu Block

## Description

Build a menu the familiar WordPress way, then place it in any block theme header.

 1. Create or edit menus under Appearance  Menus.
 2. Insert **Insight Menu Block** in your header template part.
 3. Choose the menu, alignment, ARIA label, breakpoint, and sub-menu behaviour.
 4. Style base colors and pick a hamburger (Subtle or Default). The mobile overlay 
    shows your menu automatically.

 * Menus from Appearance  Menus, output with `wp_nav_menu()`
 * Alignment, ARIA label, breakpoint, sub-menu type (hover / click / click-toggle)
 * Full-screen mobile overlay
 * Open mobile sub-menus by clicking the parent item
 * Colors: text, hover, current, hamburger, mobile background / text
 * Hamburger styles: Subtle and Default

Use WordPress core **CSS Classes** on each menu item (Appearance  Menus; enabled
under Screen Options). Those classes are output on the front end.

Menus are stored by WordPress core (`nav_menu` / `nav_menu_item`). Deactivating 
this plugin does not delete them.

## Blocks

This plugin provides 2 blocks.

 *   Insight Menu Block Classic menu block for block themes, built with Appearance
   → Menus.
 *   Menu Items Renders the menu list inside Insight Menu Block.

## Installation

 1. Install the plugin from WordPress.org, or upload the plugin folder to `/wp-content/
    plugins/`.
 2. Activate the plugin.
 3. Create a menu under Appearance  Menus.
 4. In the Site Editor, open your header template part, insert Insight Menu Block, 
    and choose the menu.

## FAQ

### Does this work with block themes?

Yes. It is built for block themes and restores the Menus screen when the theme does
not show it.

### Where are menus stored?

In WordPress core navigation menus. They remain if you deactivate the plugin.
